Hour Three
Tuesday  9 May 2017/ Hour 3, Block A: Bill Roggio, Long War Journal senior editor  & FDD, in re: US sending troops to Afghanistan. What will 3,000 to 5,000 troops accomplish? Nicholson wants “a holistic review.”  What does he expect?  Need to look at not only mil aspect but across the board.
Tuesday  9 May 2017/ Hour 3, Block B Edwin Lyman, Union of Concerned Scientists, in re:  Hanford tunnel collapse. Tunnel is crammed with old rail cars filled with radioactive waste, esp fuel rods; DOE was irresponsible in the first place and dangerous now.  Emits over 5 Roentgens per hour, which is unmanageable.  Architecture of the tunnel was wooden vertical supports. Fifty metric tons of Pn; hundreds of tons of U; nowhere for this waste to go.  Fukushima uses robots to help in clean-up – but they’re melting. High tech will not solves this, It's an industrial engineering matter. Have a plan B? Not.  Will take hundreds of billions of dollars to solve – if that’s even possible.
Tuesday  9 May 2017/ Hour 3, Block C:     Malcolm Hoenlein, Conference of Presidents, and Amb Dani Dayan, Consul-general of Israel in New York; in re: Iran’s Supreme Leader.  Election has been limited from 800 to 6 candidates.  Shi’ite Crescent.  Golan Heights.  An unfortunate consequence of “leading from behind” is that you lose leverage.  Still, the US must be a central player in designing a solution to the Syrian question.  . . . PM Netanyahu engineered almost-surgical cooperation with Russia in the matter of both air forces flying over he small patch of land that is Syria.  Israel is the only country in the world that extends humanitarian aid to Syrians within Syria. I’m extremely proud to represent this country.
@DaniDayan Malcolm Hoenlein, @Conf_of_pres. PART 3 of 4.   /  Dani Dayan (Hebrew: דני דיין‎‎); born 1955) is the Consul General of Israel in New York since August 2016. He is an Israelipolitical leader, entrepreneur and advocate for the Israeli settlements in the Judea and Samaria, or the West Bank. He served as the Chairman of the Yesha Council from 2007 to 2013. In 2013, he resigned as Chairman of the Yesha Council to endorse Benjamin Netanyahu for Prime Minister. Dayan was subsequently appointed as Chief Foreign Envoy of the Yesha Council, as the only official representative of the Israeli settlement movement to the international community.[  After a diplomatic stand-off over its assignment of former settler leader Dayan as ambassador to Brazil without consulting the government of Brasilia, Israel backed off and in March 2016 assigned Dayan as Consul General of Israel in New York.
Described by the New York Times as “worldly and pragmatic”  and "the most effective leader the settlers have had." Dayan is perceived by many to be the face of the Israeli settlement movement to the international community. His writing appears in many publications, including The New York Times,  The Los Angeles Times,  The Boston Globe,  USA TodayThe Guardian,  Haaretz, The Times of Israel and The Jerusalem Post.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dani_Dayan
Tuesday  9 May 2017/ Hour 3, Block D:   Malcolm Hoenlein, Conference of Presidents, and Amb Dani Dayan, Consul-general of Israel in New York; in re: What is to be done with the gangsters? . . .  Gaza was offered the chance to be the Middle Eastern Singapore or the Middle Eastern Somalia; they carefully and wittingly chose Somalia.  Had they chosen Singapore, Israel would have poured in huge amounts of training, funds, technical assistance. Hamas said plainly that it preferred to obliterate Israel.    @DaniDayan Malcolm Hoenlein, @Conf_of_pres. PART 4 of 4.

Hour Four
Tuesday  9 May 2017/ Hour 4, Block A:  Bob Zimmerman, BehindtheBlack.com, and author, Capitalism in Space; in re: NASA just now discovered that one in fifteen welds is bad; whole project delayed for years (again). Now NASA decides to put humans on the very first flight of the booster with its repairs. What?? SpaceX wouldn't think of doing such a nutty thing.  Btw, the stage won’t be ready so a temporary replacement will be used.  This is the same culture that caused people to die in Challenger and Columbia. NASA feels so threatened by private space that it’ll sacrifice astronauts in order to compete.  BulgariaSat and SpaceX.  “Flight-proven” means second-hand.  A billion dollars from Jeff Bezos for Blue Origin.
