Tuesday 20 August 2019  / Hour 1, Block D:  Jim McTague, author, Shake the Money Tree, & Barron’s Washington, in re: Jobs. The US is an oasis in the global economy. When the yield curve inverted last Wednesday, did the world end? If so, why is Apple trading at $212? Wall Street competition to be Dr Doom. Incomes are growing, retail sales are very strong; GDP growing at 2%/year – relative to the rest of the world, it's dynamite.  Democrats, lacking a formulated strategy, see a recession as politically useful.
 
Hour Two
Tuesday 20 August 2019  / Hour 2, Block A:  Gregory R Copley, editor & publisher, Defense & Foreign Affairs, in re: Kosovo war, 1998-9: fragmented Balkans, a to bridge Albania, and other problems.  Serbia, Kosovo and Albania have all been in limbo since then. UN and NATO have striven for a solution but so far found none.   Gregory discusses a possible land swap to satisfy ethnic rivalries.  Kosovo was created in the middle of Serbic territory to spite the Serbs. Many nations now are withdrawing their recognition of Kosovo. Meanwhile, Russian and China are moving heavily into the Balkans.  Dr Trifunovic in Belgrade.  President of Kosovo signaled that he was prepared to adjust borders; Serbs refused.  How about merging Albania and Kosovo? To do that, we need some of northern parts returned, plus a land corridor to the Adriatic.  . . .  If the US doesn't regain influence in the central Balkans, which would be greatly welcomed by the Europeans, Russia and China will – which would constitute a massive loss to the US.  . . . Bosnia-Herzegovina is essentially a collapsed state.
Tuesday 20 August 2019  / Hour 2, Block B:  Gregory R Copley, editor & publisher, Defense & Foreign Affairs, in re: The Kashmir problem erupted again with artillery fire by India and Delhi’s assertion that it will “resolve the Kashmir problem.”  Pakistan and India are both nuclear.  Modi, being an extreme Hindu nationalist, will [crush] the Muslim population in Kashmir, is moving Hindus in.  Northern part, Ladakh, holds a Buddhist majority. Kashmir is the source of much water for the Indus River, a sort of spine of Pakistan.  Also threatening the land bridge between Pakistan and China (although, were it to do that, China would intervene).  Pakistan not eager for war, knowing, it couldn't win.  Currently: videos of rampant Indian police brutality against Kashmiri Muslims.
