Tuesday  12 January 2021 / Hour 1, Block A: Joseph Sternberg: @josephsternberg, @WSJOpinion; Political Economics column; WSJ editorial board;  in re: Public is weary of virus restrictions.  Government told you how many miles you may travel for exercise; then gave up and issued “guidance.”  Police are thrown off base, not sure what to enforce. Boris is in serious political danger: assured everyone that if the NHS were protected till the vaccine arrived, all would be well. It's not turning out that way. First February, then March, then April; then “early fall.”   Britain as been a success story in the vaccine;  but BoJo and his government keep tripping over their feet.

Travel between UK an US is still light.

Tuesday  12 January  2021 / Hour 1, Block D:   New World Report.Joseph Humire @jmhumire, @securefreesoc, and Senator Maria Fernanda Cabal @MariaFdaCabal, in re: Barbados and East Caribbean tourism is wiped out by the virus.     £3,000 fine for escaping Barbados’s covid laws.   Cali is partly closed; Mexico is largely closed. Not enough emergency beds—Peru, Bolivia, everywhere, including in the East Caribbean. The Dominican Republic closes down at 5 PM.  In 2019, Hurricane Dorian caused $3.4 billion in damage; the no recovery in 2020.   The Interamerican Dvpt Bank can help the economies a little. It’s a large tragedy.  Haiti is the poorest. China and Russia are working to gain strong footholds across the Caribbean.
