Photo, left: Justin Trudeau [Canada's just-elected, new prime minister] Visits Mosque with Al-Qaeda Ties (photo credit: Jonathan Halevi) Justin Trudeau, posing for another publicity shot.    Justin is at it again. When he’s not courting the infant vote, he’s doing anything and everything to court the minority vote.  Trudeau recently visited the Al Sunnah Al-Nabawiah mosque in his Quebec riding of Papineau. This is a mosque that, according to documents from the Pentagon, is a place where “al-Qaida members were recruited, facilitated or trained.”  So ludicrous is his decision to visit a Wahhabi mosque on a US watch-list, that Tarek Fatah, the founder of the Muslim Canadian Congress, called Trudeau’s response “outrageous.” Ezra Levant helpfully chimed in that members of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda subscribe to Wahhabism, and that Justin’s Saudi-born Senior adviser has likely been slowly pushing Justin towards radical Islam. Even funnier was the earlier speculation that Justin may have accidentally converted to Islam, if he recited the Shahada during an afternoon prayer publicity stunt a few months ago. [Best info so far is that he did, indeed, recite the shehada.]

Hour Two
Thursday  29 October 2015   / Hour 2, Block A: Robert Satloff , Washington Institute, exec dir, in re:  US and Israel. Netanyahu's visit. Syria.   . . . Odd situation where an alliance of states is focuses against non-state actors, to wit, ISIS.  Russia flying in arms twice a day.  When Iran can launch a missile in violation of SC 1929 and noting happens – the whole world saw it – the message to every group is, There's no price to pay.  –right, if there's no price for this direct, incontrovertible violation, how about smaller, hazier violations in the years to come.  US will share info with Israel if and only if it thinks Israel won't try to undermine Pres Obama's deal; and Israel with eh US iff it thinks that the US will enforce the agreement.  No chance that the two presidents will emerge from November meeting arm in arm, as warm friends.  After multiple [problems] with Washington, Israeli PM went to Moscow to set up working relations and at least avoid conflict with each other
Thursday  29 October 2015   / Hour 2, Block B: George Deek, Iint'l law dept, Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs; George Deek is an Arab-Christian Israeli who hails from the city of Jaffa, where his family has lived for over 400 years;  in re: Palestinian violence.  This knife-ifada is different from the first, authentic uprising, which was a spontaneous movement form the people; then the second intifada was top-down, intended to scare the Jews and make them leave, go somewhere else.  This one is neither top-to-bottom nor bottom-up. Very few Palestinians taking part – maybe two or three dozen. Palestinian leadership praises young children who take mommy's knives and stab at random.  The story is that Jews are outsiders, colonialists, and we'll get historic Palestine, Crisis:  the swan song of he resistance narrative, not favorably impressing the people.  Much sadness that there's no leader saying, We don't want children to die in vain.  No  occupation will end because we stab people in Beeersheba.   Parallel to the Ghost Dance of Native Americans who saw in mid-Nineteenth Century that they couldn't stop the European invasion.  People believe that Jews are trying to destroy ___ just as in 1928 they said the same. "It's hard to believe that the other side isn't doing to your holy site what you'd do to there's if you could."  http://www.timesofisrael.com/losing-palestine/
Thursday  29 October 2015   / Hour 2, Block C: Michael Rubin, author, Dancing with the Devil: The Perils of Engaging Rogue Regimes ; in re: Syria, Russia, Iran .  Yes, it's always been the Iranian strategy to test limits.  We shd be very worried about IRGC's "suicide drones" – UAVs with warheads, now being used in Syria.  IRCG disproportionately benefits from cash income because it controls the Iranian economy, the national military industry – watch out Arica and South America.  A decade ago, Brits decided to be amiable with Iran in matters of drugs control, now see that Iran has reverse-engineered night-vision goggles, is mfring them and selling the for military purposes.  Zarif gave a speech lying about all that, Blatant lie.   Declining American credibility on the world statge; next president will face a greater test than has any US president of recent times.  Houthis of Yemen at war with Saudis . . . About 20% of Russian planes and munitions being used are "precision" – the rest are just being cast a population centers. Supreme Leader Khamenei continues to claim loudly that ISIS is an American invention.  . . .  In private conversations, Russia is just as demeaning about Iran as ever.  In the short term, Putin is merely playing a zero-sum game to defeat the Americans.  An Iranian blog suggested bringing Russian advisors and fighters in – and 99% of the comments from Iranian citizenry opposed that.
Thursday  29 October 2015   / Hour 2, Block D: Malcolm Hoenlein,  in re: Twenty years ago, on 4 November, the war hero Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated, "The lost opportunity for  Not: a blow, a loss, a tragedy for Israel, but there was never a peace moment with Arafat – deception and cynical deception. "I know what Rabin thought of Arafat, and when I write my book, I'll say."   Meeting on Capitol Rotunda, where American law recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel; one of Rabin's happiest moments. His final speech in Knesset was moving. "We view the permanent solution to . . .  and include most Palestinians . . "   On Jerusalem, there was no compromise. Five years after the assassination, Wye River.  Barak and Ohlmert made amazing offers – none accepted; Netanyahu accepted, Abbas walked away.

Hour Three
Thursday  29 October 2015   / Hour 3, Block A: Jonathan Halevi,  senior researcher of the Middle East affairs and radical Islam at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs; co-founder of the Orient Research Group Ltd; in re: Palestinian violence.  The just-elected PM, Justin Trudeau, went to British Columbia to a mosque, dressed as Muslim in jalabiyya, prayed, "We Muslims," said the shehada. Also visited the Wahhabist mosque in Montreal: "implement sharia!" Also visited ISNA in [Quebec?]  Called Harper "anti-Muslim" – and he seems genuinely to subscribe to pro-Wahhabism.  His first decision was to bring Canadian F18s back from Iraq, to stop opposing ISIS. Second promise was to execute his commitment to bring 25,000 Syrian refugees even though his own staff and intelligence advisors explained clearly that there 's no way to ferret out jihadist fighters' entering Canada to begin jihad. Caveat his appointments of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Citizenship and Immigration.
Justin Trudeau said he'll reopen the Canadian embassy in Teheran.  And Fatah and Palestine House are operating in Missisauga, holding demonstrations favoring the knife-intifada where children are told to take mommy's kitchen knife and kill Israelis a at random.  Head of Palestine House loudly praised murders.  How about that Chinese princeling who's said to have transferred enormous amounts of escaped Chinese money to the Liberal Party?
Thursday  29 October 2015   / Hour 3, Block B: Malcolm Hoenlein, Conference of Presidents, in re:  In 1927 an earthquake destroyed a big part of the Al Aqsa Mosque, so photographers took pictures of the inside and underneath, leaving the imam to claim that the mosque was built 3,000 years ago – 1,500 years before Islam existed.  Israel will install huge numbers of cameras whose images will go out worldwide over the Internet so everyone on Earth can see exactly what's happening there
Thursday  29 October 2015   / Hour 3, Block C:  Michael McFaul, Hoover and New York Times; in re: The Myth of Putin's Strategic Genius The Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin, continues to surprise. Russia’s military intervention in Syria, followed by a face-to-face meeting in Moscow this week with that country’s president, Bashar al-Assad, has startled the world.
Thursday  29 October 2015   / Hour 3, Block D: Robert Zimmerman, behind he black, in re: Oxygen in Comet 67P/C-G coma The uncertainty of science: Unexpectedly scientists using Rosetta data have discovered oxygen in the coma of Comet 67P/C-G. It was not immediately clear where the oxygen came from. The team discovered that water and oxygen were often found together — an indication that similar processes released both molecules. But Bieler and his colleagues ruled out many scenarios in which oxygen arises as a by-product when energetic particles such as photons and electrons split apart water. Instead, the researchers argue that the oxygen is a remnant from when 67P formed billions of years ago, a process that may have trapped the gas in small grains of ice and rock that coalesced to create the comet’s solid core.
But many models of the early Solar System rule this out because most oxygen tends to pair off with hydrogen. Given this affinity, it is tricky to adjust models of the early Solar System to allow for the survival of gaseous O2, says Mike A’Hearn, an astronomer at the University of Maryland in College Park and a co-investigator on Alice. But he adds that it may be possible with the right chemical abundances and temperature conditions.

Thursday  29 October 2015   / Hour 4, Block C: Benedict Carey, NYT, in re: Part One: The Chains of Mental Illness in West Africa ; Video: Praying for a Cure In West Africa, hundreds of people with mental illnesses live in awful conditions. One organization is fighting to give them back their dignity with a new approach to mental health treatment.
