JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW

Hour One
Friday 11 October 2019/ Hour 1, Block A: Jeff Bliss, Pacific Watch, in re: LA fires and, extraordinarily, PG&E’s planned blackouts — prophylactic and wise, or a vicious power play?
Friday 11 October 2019/ Hour 1, Block B: Francis Rose, Government Matters, in re:  Federal agencies have been stuck with deadwood employees; proposed radical change in the coming year.
Friday 11 October 2019/ Hour 1, Block C:  Robert Zimmerman, BehindtheBlack.com, in re: SpaceX; Dragon Capsule, Elon Musk; launch/abort test in third week in December. Boeing, the people who brought you 737s, will launch on 17 Dec, in competition with SpaceX.  Also, another test on 4 November. Has decided to go with Branson. How has Branson fooled so many people for so long, having accomplished almost nothing? Proton.  The unaccomplished Boeing teams up with the unproductive Branson.
Friday 11 October 2019/ Hour 1, Block D:  Robert Zimmerman, BehindtheBlack.com, in re:  Baby Binaries — how and why they form. Swirls and layers.  Water: ice lunar, maybe in craters untouched by the Sun; some crates very old, some much younger. Ergo, ice production seems to be an ongoing process.  Ice Mars: found in all directions almost everywhere; some but not all buried.  Deeper but still accessible.  Fifty degrees North latitude in the cliff face. Swirls and layers.
Chandrayan,

Hour Two
Friday 11 October 2019/ Hour 2, Block A:  Michael E Vlahos, Johns Hopkins, in re:  One’s own civil war can be identified as such only well after the events.  Impeachment is a form of regicide. The raveling of other democratic or semi-democratic societies: have studied [this sort of conflict] in four instances:  twice in the US, the Spanish Civil War, and La Violencia in 1948.  Each reached a point where he space between the notion that everyone accepted that things were coming apart to when they actually did was about sixteen months. Some sort of [dismantling] is accepted by both sides in the US.  People then start to make preparations accordingly. Things move forward accretively. Citizens here are girding themselves for some kind of confrontation. I sense that people are preparing now.
Friday 11 October 2019/ Hour 2, Block B:  Michael E Vlahos, Johns Hopkins, in re:  The currency of insurrection. The period just before that is one in which there are strong [sentiments], a kind of violent rhetoric, use of the word “war.”  A society begins to steel itself, and a prefiguring of what will be normal in future.  Eventual things just explode.  Example: an anonymous whistleblower; Microsoft employees demand that the company break its association with ICE.  Higher than the law? Nothing is, as long as the Constitution is in place.  American colonists always explained that God was leading them.  A long period of globalization and a cosmopolitan belief system among Blue: attacks on patriots as [wicked]. Two realities having no way to understand each other. Even taking the effort to understand would be seen as a betrayal.  In 2020, will this [explode], or will one side surrender?  No one knows.   With each election, a greater desire to overturn the results. Nullification or . . .
Friday 11 October 2019/ Hour 2, Block C:  Richard Epstein, Chicago Law, NYU Law, and Hoover Defining Ideas; in re:  The campaign to alarm all on global warming, especially recently in the UN by a teenager.  In the US, this seems not to be a useful political tack.  Weather is capricious; lovely autumn in New York; no leading indicator suggests we’re headed for trouble. . . . Chaos theory.  “No climate emergency. Natural factors cause warming. Slowly.  CO2 from plants. Policy must respect economic and political realities.”
Friday 11 October 2019/ Hour 2, Block D: Richard Epstein, Chicago Law, NYU Law, and Hoover Defining Ideas; in re:   . .  .  The Availabilty Bias; The Background Bias.  These can be [compensated for]?
