The European outlets have picked up the theme that the Kim regime is acting oddly and aggressively, and of course this worries the Euros in a
crocodile tear fashion. Since the US is not directly involved, with several divisions and a fleet hanging around in Northeast Asia, they seem profoundly less tremulous than when the subject of Tehran comes up. Why is this? Compare and contrast. The Kim regime is a feral, apocalyptic, defeatist cult built upon mass sadism. The Twelver regime is an apocalyptic and grandiose cult built upon paranoia and suicide. Both have the same missiles, since the Kim regime sold the Twelvers its missiles, and even tested the same for the Twelvers. The Kim regime has nukes, provided by the Russian breeder reactor and the PLA bomb-making plans from Shanghai. The Tehran regime aims to have a complete nuclear fuel cycle soon, based upon centrifuge technology stolen by Pakistan and guided by the Kim regime. The Kim regime sells missile and nuke technology to Tehran. Tehran directs nuke and missile technology to its client Syria. In all, the Kim regime and the Twelvers are compadres, brothers of the gun, a lunatic duo of rogues. So why are the Europeans less unsettled by the Kim regime provocations that they are routinely of the Twelver regime provocations? Because the Europeans have no trade advantages with North Korea. It is that simple. Tehran is an EU trading partner. If the Tehran regime were to lower its mask for a moment and reveal Satan himself, the Euros would find something ameliorative to say about the sulphur smell. Kim is Satan, and the Euros fret without breaking a sweat. Cowardly New World.
Beautiful linkage Mr Batchelor... thank you!
Also, for the history lesson Sunday evening on the formulation of the State of Israel.
Much appreciation for you!!!
It's also a matter of distance. Bush's 'Axis of Evil' was never accepted by the EU. They mocked it and ended up extending it across the Atlantic to include America. With Bush gone, the threat is gone as well. Never mind that bombs are going off all around the Middle and Near East. Never mind that these bombs seem to be getting progressively bigger. Extend the curve and you can expect... but never mind.
Anyway, "Where exactly is North Korea on the map? Is it even on a map? Let's look. I've got a map of Europe right here. ...can't find it. Something strange... Can't seem to find Israel either."
Huh?
Setting aside the party politik, flush with cash for campaigning under the banners, let's supplant Mr McCain into the Presidency (which I supported as an Independent.)
Was I heartbroken and discouraged with the result? Yes, I anticipated his triumph unabashedly and speculated the margin to be +- 52/ 48 with MacPal on top. Hmm... it was still close!!! I just had the candidate wrong!!
The only reason I recount this now is for reflective measure in comparison to what we may have been denied. But, democracy is like that.
One thing leads to another, punk it!!!
.... So.... is KFI ever gonna put up the podcast from 5/24, or is it lost forever?
*sigh*

Yeah. I was wondering that too because I wanted to refer a friend to it.
Right, JB. Europe's lack of interest in helping the US and her Asian allies restrain North Korea because it lacks commercial interests in the region is to be distinguished from Europe's lack of interest in helping the US restrain Iran because it has commercial interests with Iran. I sense a theme here . . . Nothing would be more salutary for US-European relations than an Iranian missile strike in Berlin.
Well, I was hoping someone would offer their speculative opinion about how things might be different at this point in time if McCain/ Palin had taken the election.
I guess it really doesn't matter, though... I just wonder.
Not a whit, Spence, not a whit.
Didn't the NY Post call the Europeans the "Axis of Weasels"? Will OUR BELOVED PRESIDENT, blessed be his name, join the Axis of Weasels?
To answer Corlyss, Iran and DPRK would be foolish to attack US interests, and our close allies. Notice France's rushed bid to fully integrate back into NATO?
We have no formal defense treaties with the Arab world, the fear of the "Arab Street" prevents that. If a major Arab city like Cairo, Riyadh, or Amman were to be attacked, would Congress allow the US to retaliate? The answer is no.
If anybody defends the Arabs, it will be the Russians and the Chinese. Already Russian ships have moved into the Gulf as well as Iranian ships off the Iranian coast. So now you two major fleets slowly getting closer together in a small area.
Calling Hamas criminals is demeaning. Yes they are corrupt, but no more corrupt then American Congressmen and Senators who bow down to the Corporate and Oil Lobbyist.
Iran has never invaded any country in the last 200 years or more. Calling them Satan is a way to demonize the enemy. Iran has never attacked the USA. Iran has never attacked Israel. Yet both Israel and US are beating the war drums to attack Iran. The consequences of attacking Iran would be burning US ships in the Gulf, super-high gas prices, empty store shelves, and martial law in the US.
Palin/McCain would make no difference since they get their marching orders from the International Bankers.
There are three or four US aircraft carriers and support ships sitting in the Gulf along with the Russian and Iranian ships.
>Nothing would be more salutary for US-European relations than an Iranian missile strike in Berlin.
An attack on Berlin by Ming the Merciless and his evil rocketeers from the planet Mongo would also be good for American-German relations, and is about as likely to happen.
