This seems like it must be arson - why else would just the one tree catch fire?
Also, it looks like the firemen were just standing around picking the shit out of their asses watching it burn. Good job, guys. Glad all that training paid off.
Keep at it Mike. You're bound to be right about something sooner or later, just by the law of averages.

LONGWOOD, Florida (WKMG) -- Officials investigating the fire that toppled "The Senator," a 3,500-year-old cypress tree at Big Tree Park in Longwood, backtracked Tuesday, saying that arson is a possible cause of the blaze.

A fire official said Monday that an arsonist could have been responsible for setting fire to one of the oldest trees in the world, citing a pile of twigs found at the base of the tree and the fact that there had not been any recent lightning strikes in the area.
Lat's see, Lou: You read an article about arson being a 'possible' cause of the fire. Then you very cleverly post the idea of 'arson' as your own thesis for the fire. Then you ask for another possible explanation for "why else would just the one tree catch fire?. I correctly answer: 'lightning'. So what's your problem? You sound like you have half the tree up your ass.
(speaking of falling down all by itself, that's the website of the local non-news paper, which now does only 3 print editions a week and will be gone completely in another year or so).
But the symbolism here is important. The tree was an institution, a symbol (to me at least) of what is good, and old, and persistent, about the American way of life. That's the way of life the Alinsky-ites and Obama-ites are dedicated to eradicating by any means possible, the more horrifying the better (at least to them). Every day I feel the country I love die a little more.
Lou, Mike, you may resume your little-girl slap-fight.
Look, Mike, we've never been able to get along with one another. We've come to this place before. I suggested that you simply not respond to my posts. If you stop responding to my posts, then the problem will go away. The fact that we keep on getting into pissing matches is a direct result of the fact that you keep picking fights with me. While it obviously takes two to make an argument, the fact is that you are the one who picks the argument with me. If you don't want me to dress you down, don't talk to me at all. I don't value your opinion; you don't value mine. There's no point in our having any further communication. If you care to have the last word in this thread, go for it, it's your turn. After that and for the future, it will be evident to everyone on this board who the instigator is between the two of us (if it isn't already.)
Lou --
Since you don't know what you're talking about, it's not surprising you don't know what I'm talking about either. I didn't start this -- you did. I answer on topic. You answer -- "regardless of the cost to my own dignity" -- like the nasty bitch you are.
By the way, Lou, you're a bully. And bullies have no dignity. You have to knock someone down to try and make yourself look better. The fact that you're not very good at bullying doesn't change this equation one iota.
This is really tragic.

You guys are too funny. Trees don't live forever, and sometimes they fall down all by themselves, like this one near my house:

As long as I've made Mike look like a little girl, regardless of the cost to my own dignity, then my work here is done.
Lou -
You defy the 'law of averages': You're a pompous ass 100% of the time.
