New video from North Korea, DPRK, starring Kim Jong Un playing his father in the walk-and-talk-with-the-bosses scenes that serve as a regime opera. The many faces of military cadres is the best evidence available of who is in charge of the Kim cult. What is striking is how closely KJU imitates his father's casual haberdashery and regal gestures, as if he is trying out for the role of Big Kim. Are they now experimenting with doubles and triples in the same rolly-polly format, so that they can send KJU on secret missions while his doubles hold court for cameras? This is bizarre discovery. The PRC and its PLA cadres are held in check by the play-acting of these unusually dim-witted actors on a stage of severe depravity (famine as a weapon is commonplace in DPRK). KJU is a stooge to stooges. The KJU cult development proceeds in a separate reality to ours, a parallel performance, and it is testing the audience (us) to learn if the cult is satisfactory. This may be the best version we will ever get of what the planet would look like if the junta opera cults ever achieved their goals of conquest. For now, it is as if there are cult theme parks, in Tehran, in Pyongyang, in Damascus, in Harare and so forth, where the melodramas struggle in their central casting roles.

Speaking of dark opera, the GOP primary race is devolving into one of its own, thanks largely to Newt Gingrich. The Speaker has every right to be angry about all those rather personal negative commercials run against him in Iowa by Mitt Romney's SuperPAC and also by Ron Paul. But Newt has focused his Bain Capital negative attacks on Romney with an obvious desire for vengeance that has turned his alleged campaign for President into a personal vendetta. Sounding more like The Creature from Zuccotti Park rather than the Reagan conservative he claims to be, the Speaker appears to be so determined to deny Romney the WH that he no longer cares if the net effect of his vendetta is to re-elect Barack Obama, which would be a terrible disaster for We the People.
So I would like to suggest a rewrite of Giuseppe Verdi's most famous opera which deals precisely with an unhinged desire for personal revenge by the title character by which he destroys not the real villain but himself and what he holds most dear. I would call the re-written dark opera "Gingoletto." Newt would play himself as the title character, of course; the new Gilda, the dishonored daughter who gets screwed by the ruler/villain, would be unwillingly but appropriately played by We the People; the new Duke of Mantua who rapes the new Gilda would be appropriately and ably played by Barack Hussein Obama. Unfortunately, the new dark opera Gingoletto would end the same way as the old Rigoletto -- "Si vendetta, tremenda vendetta!" would end up as "Ah, la maledizione!" Newt's curse has always been his self-absorption and grandiosity, only now if he fatally damages Romney and saddles the rest of us with a second term for The Bamster, We the People will wind up like the original Gilda -- dead meat. So I have now decided, despite serious misgivings, to pull for Mitt and hope that all others, especially Gingoletto, will shut up and get out of the race on the theory of "any port in a storm." For, as the original Rigoletto reminds us, "La tempesta e' vicina!"
KJU is truly an astonishingly ugly kid.
