Extreme Weakness

Spoke David Drucker, Roll Call, to learn that the Democratic leadership in the Senate openly describes its strategy for the midterm elections as a version of going negative early, late, and always. The Democratic campaign charge, according to Robert Menendez of New Jersey, is to paint the Republicans as extremists, outside the mainstream, unready, unworthy of mature leadership. Sharron Angle, extreme. Rand Paul, extreme. Carly Fiorina, unready. Marco Rubio, unworthy.  It sounds lame; however, it is the unanimous choice of the Democrats just because they know that there is no positive metric to debate, and that the joblessness, housing collapse, flaccid market, world drift, are all losers.  The record of the legislation, from stimulus to cap and trade, to Obamacare and FInReg, is not regarded as a positive.  Even a weakness.  And the BP/Gulf of Mexico made this the Lost Summer for the Democrats.   So, attack, attack.  Get out your air raid helmet.  Incoming.

If the Dems are going to attack, we certainly know who their attack dogs are: The MSM.

Had the MSM attacked the Gulf disaster early on, POTUS would've known there was a problem. But because the MSM was pretty much silent, for fear of hurting our Fearless Leader, Obama was too far behind the curve to ever get out in front of the problem. Hmmmm. Maybe Obama doesn't have a radio.

Consumer America is sitting on its hands. If I hear once more that people are not buying stuff because of the ‘bad economy’ I think I’ll go nuts. The American people ARE the economy. They are not buying; they are not starting or expanding their businesses precisely because they fundamentally and vehemently disagree with the present administration. They are letting their dissatisfaction be known in the only way they can.

It has become blatantly obvious that Washington does not listen to the people. Equally obvious is that Washington is brazenly and deliberately ruling against the people’s will. They marched; they telephoned; they e-mailed; wrote editorials; they went to town hall meetings only to be called out as ignorant, racists, bigots and homophobes. They’ve been dissed and dismissed by the Washington elite and in the sycophant media; rendered speechless; powerless; illegitimate; insignificant.

We will register our overall discontent once again at the polls in November despite the suspicion that nothing will essentially change. The split between ourselves and Washington has become too great to bridge in one election cycle. We understand that Washington has become rogue. We have come to realize that the only clout we still have is by painting the economy with a black eye quarter after quarter.

Those taking the long view are well aware that we are only playing into their hands. They know that for far too long our own government has worked to undermine our economy; that it is Washington that has brought our economy to the brink. Now Washington turns it around and blames the folks; and, in an act of supreme arrogance, appoints the very same people who have caused the most damage to fix it. What’s that saying again: ‘Fool me once… fool me twice…’?

Washington has closed ranks. It will not cry ‘uncle’. No matter how hard we try to deny them, they’ve already decided, in one way or another, they will get their pound of flesh. They intend to take it out of our hides. Each day we endure a fresh outrage; another insult. It’s become all too clear they are trying to provoke us.

The system will fail - spectacularly - as they’ve planned for it to fail all along. We’ve come too far to avoid it. The next step they have in mind is to build walls around us; to string us up with razor wire. We will do nothing to give them that excuse. We will fight on peacefully as we have - for that is our nature. Though we will make sure that the pain is equal on both sides.

Even those who live in la-la land are beginning to wake up. In the end our sheer numbers will crush them. Then we can start over.

@ Mike, After Journo-gate, the MSM media must carefully watch what they say. Viewers and listeners on the right and center must be encouraged to describe the MSM as extreme leftists doing the dirty work of Radical leftists in Government who do not represent the views of all Americans.

Nobody likes to use the word boycott, but if advertisers know they will not be used if they continue to advertise in the lefty press. The left has been doing it for decades.

MSNBC is on life support, time to put her down. Feel free to write your Cable and Satellite provider.

Republicans are about to get snookered again. By insisting on a show trial, it takes the focus away from a whole litany of Democrat policy failures. The Dems could also claim that they are taking care of corruption within their own ranks.

Rangel has been a good Democrat. He has had a long and worthy career carrying water for the Democrat Party. Yet, to my knowledge, he has never played the race card. This is what may be rankling the Democrats the most.

As for his alleged corruption - failure to report income, pay taxes and so on… - this is something that most of the members of the current administration are guilty of. Again, we find a policy of selective enforcement on display.

Get the best deal you can, Charlie, and resign, keeping your innate dignity in tact. Do not let them turn you into a piñata for their own political purposes. Perhaps now you’ll understand that your mortal enemy was never Republicans (with whom you sparred honorably). Your enemies were right there in your own nest. Lying with dogs unfortunately will give you fleas.
