Yard Signs Massacre.
POTUS Obama conducted the Martha Coakley rally at Northeastern with the enthusiasm of a young person who has been pulled along to his dad's and mom's high school reunion. Axelrod did not bother to prep POTUS on a couple of facts on Brown that might have sounded convincing. Instead, POTUS positioned himself to work with the putative new senator from Massachucetts. Late word is that the Democratic controlled Public Policy Polling will publish after 10 pm Eastern Time Sunday 17 and will show Brown ahead -- inside the margin of error. Also late word is that the Coakley team is asserting that it has tracking polls that show it went from 2 behind to 2 ahead around the excitement of the POTUS visit. Shrug to all polling. My best measure of the day was my Boston source who reports that Brown yard signs are like mushrooms in spring in suburban neighborhoods that voted heavily for Obama and are the most fertile of the Democratic chattering class fields. Brown yard signs everywhere. Missing Coakley yards signs. Is there a warehouse of Coakley yard signs?

Anyone check out the 2:49-long video of Obama being heckled in Boston (this same rally, I think)? You can't help but like the way he handled it. The crowd is starting to turn ugly on the heckler and Obama says "We're all right. We're all right." Big smile. "That's OK". Continues to smile. Never shows any anger.
This is a great talent to show kindness in the face of such anger. It's a shame that a talent was wasted on somebody whose policies are so utterly misguided. But give the devil his due, I say. He sure is cool under fire.
