Bloviating Terror

War.

Karl Rove is relaxed, well-spoken, cogent. He quotes the afternoon presser remarks by the bloviating and defensive POTUS, "The American people should be assured that we are doing everything we can to keep your family safe."  Karl Rove then pounds the Obama administration on its decisions since the Flight 253 event. Rove makes it clear that POTUS views the attack as a crime, as assault and bettery, as a one-off.  Rove says, "This is not a crime.  This is a war."  Rove says, "How much valuable information was lost in the 72 hours after..."  "And sweat him as we have seen in a dozen movies..."   Inarguable, on target, comprehensive, passionate, easy listening.  My source information is that Obama administration defenders Karen Tumulty and Donna Brazille are in agreement with the observation that Janet Napolitano's unusual, vapid performance on TV on Sunday 28 was a new crater in the national security landscape of the Obama administration.  "The system worked," is the new jibe replacing "Yes, we can."

Tom Ridge

On Larry King, Tom Ridge attacked the Obama administration decision to read Abdulmutallah his Miranda rights and treat him with lawyers and presumption of innocence.  Same question that Rove asks: is this a crime or a war?

THE SYSTEM WORKED

The Dem political system worked to get radical, incompetent, ideologically-bound, closed-
minded people jobs. "Yes, We Can" translates into "We can do whatever we want. You can't stop us and neither can common sense."

I agree with Karl on all points and his conclusion-except one. He asserts we should sweat the guy "because he is not a criminal but a terrorist," That is a "process" point. My sense is we treat him as a terrorist, enemy combatant etc. so we can extract every piece of info from his. This kid is a gift to the US. A successfully indoctrinated and prepared operative who lived. We want to extract every piece of intel we can. Hell, don't punish him at all; give him 70 virgins now if you must but have him talk. Who gives a crap if he ever "comes to justice." I have no need to punish this guy if his highest value is as a stooge.

And conservatives should press this point, not just rehash the criminal vs terrorist debate. Treat him in whatever way benefits the USA the most.

"WHEN THE FACTS CHANGE, I CHANGE MY MIND. WHAT DO YOU DO?"

"We attack the previous administration." The Chicago Gang

Aaron Klein, the Jerusalem Bureau Chief for World Net Daily writes, "Republican lawmakers last month placed a 'hold' on Obama's pick to head the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) over concerns he (Erroll Southers) could undermine safety by unionizing airport security." As I read this, I would have to say that no one is in charge at the TSA. The system still functions, but solely on the momentum of what previous administrations have put in place. However, it now appears that the clocks are winding down.

We could take it a step further and scribe a wider arc to include the entire U.S. government; and we could say with equal certitude that no one is in charge there as well - not in a practical way, at any rate. We are reminded of it over and over again as we watch the dollar's steady downward slide; as we watch gate crashers crashing White House security; as we watch our foreign policy unraveling; as we watch for the mailman to bring us our government checks.

On so many levels, in so many areas, we are barely moving on rapidly dying momentum. Since Barack Hussein Obama took office, nothing of substance has been added. The Yankee Clipper is running out of steam and the passengers are getting nervous. "Why are we slowing down?" they're asking. "What's happened to the engineer?"

What indeed! Could somebody check? How long do you think it would take to bring in a new guy to take over?
