Last Night In Tehran

The Basiji are frightened of the night and do not come out to beat on the protesters. The police are overtaxed and distracted.   Each evening the young people gather at arranged spots, organized on cellphones just beforehand, and chant and sing.  Yes, it is too dark to see faces.  That is the point.  These are brave and reckless people. The regime is cracking. Khatami's call for a referendum is not trivial. The silence of POTUS is trite. Translation: "Sohrab, Peace upon you. Translation: after yare dabestani song, Down with dictator, Free speech, Brave neighbours support us, support us Last song is towards Khamneie"
