Pres Obama and supporters trying to obliterate the distinction between a combattant and a common criminal, who holds legal rights.  As soon as the Gitmo men arrive, the ACLU and white-shoe law firms will race for publicity by defending them. The point of detaining them is to gather intelligence to prevent future attacks  - not to lock them up to make them pay for a crime.
