The GOP launches a full offensive on the Joe Biden "chains" incident by mashing up the lunging metaphors of Democratic voices such as Wasserman-Schultz, Pelosi, Cutter, Biden again, that are then juxtaposed with Candidate Obama's warning about divisive campaigning from 2008. There will be more and more of this offensive, just because OFA does not have an answer. Joe Biden's unforced error has damaged the OFA aim to paint the fresh-faced Paul Ryan as an extremist ogre. Every moment spend on Biden's loose lips is a moment not used to mock RomneyRyan2012. I think of the two campaigns as the opposing carrier battle groups of the Pacific War era -- perhaps at the first battle of carriers, the Coral Sea. The campaigns are built around aircraft carriers of social media aircraft that can deliver swarming multiple level attacks of torpedo planes and dive bombers. There is no defense that can stop the video dive bombers when attacking along with the Twitter and Facebook torpedo runs. OFA scored direct hits with the Bain attacks and the Romney taxes attacks. Romney was burning out of control. Then Romney found Ryan, and suddenly the Romney campaign managed the savvy to launch attacks on OFA. Now Biden is burning out of control. How will OFA stop the dive bombing on Biden? Wait for the next Romney or Ryan mistake, probably at the convention in Tampa. In the meantime, Candidate Obama is struggling to attract crowds in Iowa. Reports of 555 at Marshalltown, 852 at Oskaloosa, 2000 at Boone. These are not the numbers of 2008, nor even numbers of enthusiasm. Candidate Biden can probably attract more just because people will want to watch the next gaffe. Paul Ryan's wit in North Canton, Ohio (see below) describes the scale of the Biden problem that will not go away: "It is great to be here in North Canton, or as Joe Biden might say, it's great to be here in Nevada."
Above, on the flight deck of he name ship of the Yorktown class (other members were Enterprise CV-6 and Hornet CV-8), USS Yorktown CV-5 secured her place in history at Coral Sea and Midway.
